APRA is a non-profit trade association whose members rebuild/remanufacture automotive and truck related "hard" parts for passenger cars, trucks, off-road, marine, equipment and industrial uses. Automotive Service Association
The Automotive Service Association, aka ASA, storied history began on May 31, 1951 and is headquarted in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area. The 12,000 ASA members perform mechanical, auto body, and transmission repairs and can be identified by its red, white, and blue ASA sign. The organization's purpose is to promote the best interests of the trade, increase its facilities for commercial transactions, and at the same time, offer better service to the public. Also, ASA strives to advance the professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services. The forefathers of ASA had a vision of uniting independant automotive repair and service facilities like our transmission repair shop into a nation wide trade association, and that goal continues to this day.
National Federation of Independent Business
The National Federation of Independent Business is the largest advocacy organization representing small and independent businesses in Washington, D.C., and all 50 state capitals. NFIB was ranked the most influential business organization (and 3rd overall), in "Washington's Power 25" survey conducted by Fortune magazine. The Transmission Rebuilders Network is a world-wide network of over 1,000 actual transmission technicians, interacting on problems, fixes, diagnosis, hydraulics, functions, bench techniques, part locating & reviewing, homemade tools, assembly tips, and installation tips for the transmission repair industry. TRNI members share knowledge, experience, and advice on the science of rebuilding automatic transmissions and the art of managing a transmission shop.
